September 24, 2018, Mt. Pleasant, SC – After nearly two years of planning and development, Carolina Park has announced the opening of its newest amenity – Bolden Park featuring a 20-acre lake as its centerpiece. Situated in the heart of the community’s Riverside custom homes neighborhood, the new park and lake are just the latest features setting Carolina Park apart as one of the Lowcountry’s premier master planned communities.
“Riverside has emerged as an exceptional community,” said Brian Keels, Chief Operating Officer of Carolina Park Development. “And the completion of Bolden Park just adds to its appeal.”
Featuring an expansive ipe (pronounced ee-pay) boardwalk extending out over the lake, a beautifully landscaped park area, an island featuring a majestic live oak, and gorgeous views overlooking the 20-acre lake, this exciting new amenity promises to serve as a gathering spot for the entire community. In time, the entire lake will be encircled by a nearly mile-long nature trail.
“Within Riverside, nearly half of the property will be set aside as protected greenspace – more than 250 acres – in order to retain the natural beauty and appeal of the land,” stated Keels. “The park and the lake enhance that. They’ll provide a place for people to meet, fish, kayak, paddleboard, and enjoy the great outdoors together, while also serving as a home and habitat for birds and aquatic life.”
Work has already begun on several of the custom homes that will overlook Bolden Park. Inspired by the remarkable natural setting, Carolina Park has commissioned some of the area’s most highly–regarded architects, planners and builders to design 10 extraordinary homes that will grace the lakefront. The architecture reflects building traditions deeply rooted in the Lowcountry, taking on a more relaxed character that celebrates the outdoors and complements the casual Lowcountry lifestyle. Each home has been specifically designed to maximize views and highlight the distinct features offered by each home site.
“We knew what a unique and rare opportunity this was, and we wanted to be sure we got it right,” said Keels. “Watching the lake literally come to life, seeing these extraordinary homes taking shape, and knowing what a remarkable place this will be to call home – it’s very exciting for all of us.”
Carolina Park is already among the region’s premier master planned community, encompassing 1,700 acres and offering an unparalleled collection of amenities including four of the region’s top public schools, a full-service hospital, Mt. Pleasant fire and police station, and a commercial district that is home to the area’s newest Costco store. Soon, the community will welcome the new, 40,000 square-foot Wando Mt. Pleasant Library, as well as senior living apartments and cottages at Merrill Gardens at Carolina Park.
“From the lake opening, to the addition of two new schools to the new library and additional commercial development, there’s a lot of exciting activity coming to community and more to come,” concluded Keels. For our current and future residents alike, it’s really a great time to be part of the Carolina Park family.”
